TALK's Mission Statement

As we approach Thanksgiving, we have been reflecting on what this year has had in store for us. A lot has changed for all of us both personally and professionally. In times like these, it’s helpful to remember who we are as a company, and what our goals are for ourselves and for our clients.

Our mission statement encompasses all of our ideals and values for our company. It’s what makes us strong, unique, and compassionate in treating speech and language disorders. We strive to grow and help each and every one of our clients and their families.

At TALK, we believe that:

All children have the right and means to communicate and therefore deserve individualized plans to cater to their specific needs

Every child is different. That’s why we develop specific and personalized goals after getting to know your child throughout several weeks of diagnostic therapy. We consistently modify goals to best meet our client’s needs throughout their treatment plan.

We are here to support and facilitate language to the best of our ability using research-based techniques and a child-centered approach

Our therapy is based on research, experience, and evaluation of the whole child. We stay up to date on the latest studies and effective programs to make sure each child receives the treatment that is right for him or her. Our team includes experienced SLPs as well as recent graduates with the most up to date training.

Progress can be qualitative and quantitative, allowing for personal growth and data driven changes

We track progress on every goal each session to monitor growth and make adjustments as needed. This allows us to support each child to meet his or her goals. We consistently review achievements and changes with parents at the end of sessions and at quarterly parent meetings.

Speech and language development is a collaborative effort, which should include family, friends, school, and a full TALK team for each child

We work with parents, teachers, and other therapists and professionals to help us best support each child. Every client at TALK also receives a team of three SLPs – a lead therapist, an alternate therapist, and a lead director. Each has a different role in providing therapy, monitoring progress, and determining the course of treatment.

If you would like to find out more about our mission or services, please give us a call. We are thankful for each of our children, families, therapists, directors, and office staff this year, and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients and welcoming new families over teletherapy or in person in the years to come.
