teletherapy

what is teletherapy?

Teletherapy is providing speech therapy through a live video connection over the internet and is an evidence-based practice that is recognized and supported by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Telepractice is speech language pathology services at a distance by connecting a therapist to a client for assessment, intervention, and consultation. Many other practices have been implementing teletherapy for years.

There is research supporting its use with children with a variety of disorders. TALK understands that teletherapy may be new to you, but it is not a new method of effective service delivery for speech and language for clients with a variety of ages, language levels, and diagnoses.  Since all the research shows that it can be just as effective and on-site 1:1 therapy, TALK is confident that we can continue to provide services effectively and may hope to even gain some new benefits that result from the caregiver involvement component.

We Believe…

TALK believes that it is essential that our clients continue to receive therapy to make gains in their speech, language, and social communication skills as well as have consistency and normalcy during this emergency.  We care about all of you and your well being and are doing everything we can to provide you services during this time, mitigate losses, and remain open after this has passed.  Please remain open minded and patient as we do our best to treat your children in these times.  While TALK still focuses our model on in person therapy, we believe this is an opportunity to see different benefits by implementing therapy in a different modality so that we can continue to support the community in this unprecedented time.
