covid-19 update
A message for our families and clients,
We would like to provide you with an update on the actions we are taking amid concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus.
A cornerstone of TALK: Teaching and Assessing Language for Kids has always been our desire to provide our clients with a safe and positive learning experience. During this time of uncertainty, we want to take as many precautions as possible, while striving to maintain a sense of normalcy, as we recognize that change and transitions can be even more challenging for the majority of our clientele. As we adapt our business to ensure that we can continue to provide quality therapy, we ask for your help to ensure our therapists and staff can continue to provide speech and language therapy as these events unfold.
In this spirit, all sessions will continue as scheduled for the time being and for as long as attendance and advice from public health officials allows.
We are taking every possible precaution to keep our clinic clean and safe. Some of the measures we are taking are the following:
Disinfecting the rooms and materials after every use and requiring hand washing before lessons.
Cleaning common areas (stair railings, elevator buttons, door handles, etc.) at least three times per day
We have closed our waiting room and are meeting families outside of the building to escort clients to their sessions.
Suspension of any oral placement tools and goals (for all clients who have these in their programming)
Goal Meetings to be done remotely - recommended modality via TheraPlatform (vs. phone)
There have been no cases of COVID-19 at TALK; however, as a precaution, we are making teletherapy sessions available through the TheraPlatform for those clients who would prefer to participate in therapy remotely for the duration of this event. Please use this link to familiarize yourself with this platform https://www.theraplatform.com/ and sign and return the consent form to begin transitioning to this model. To facilitate our online lessons, lessons would take place at the regularly scheduled weekly day and time, via Theraplatform.

Kind Regards,
Alexia, Sarah, and Mari
